The members of the IRO extend condolences and sympathy to the family of the late Honorable Prime Minister Patrick Manning on his passing. Mr. Manning who was the longest serving member of Parliament in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, he will be remembered and sadly missed. Being a Prime Minister or a holder of any high office does require commitment, tolerance and courage.
Mr. Manning, who held the Office of Leader of the Opposition and Prime Minister, would have gained a variety of experiences which I am sure he would have imparted to his constituents and fellow politicians. As a statesman, he pursued his dreams even against the will of some of his own colleagues. However his determination as a man of vision, lead him to many legacies which the Nation shall be proud.
Mr. Manning was a man who had strong faith in the Almighty Supreme God, and made time to pray and encouraged others to do the same. He will be remembered for hosting many religious functions at the official residence of the Prime Minister. He was a humble person and always made time for his constituents even while holding high office. He will be surely missed.
May his soul rest in peace.
Justice of the Peace
